Simone Stewart
Western High School
University of Maryland 2000
Accenture

Simone Stewart is a graduate of Western High School who obtained her B.S. in marketing and general business management from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2000. As an undergrad, Simone served as president of the Black Business Association, and was an active member of the Black Student Union, American Marketing Association, and Dean's Council.

Simone continues to be involved with the University of Maryland by serving as a corporate advisor for the Black Business Association, mentoring minority students, and serving as a sounding board for the dean of the undergraduate business program. Since graduating from the University of Maryland, Simone has worked for Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services, and outsourcing company. Her focus has been in the communications and high tech industry fields, helping Fortune 500 companies implement initiatives through the use of technology.

She attributes her success to ABC and the Adams Foundation, not only for their financial support, but for mentoring support as well. Simone took many of the experiences that she was able to obtain through the Foundation – such as her first-ever exposure to etiquette training – back to the Black Business Association at the University of Maryland, and created similar programs that were later adopted by the entire Smith School of Business.

Simone holds a great deal of respect for Mr. and Mrs. Adams and all that they have done to give back to the community. Today, as a graduate of the scholarship program, she demonstrates her gratitude through her continued participation as a member of the scholarship review board.
