Erika Morant Erika Morant is a 2007 graduate of Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University where she received her B.S. in finance and completed a minor concentration in fashion design. She was an Adams Future Business Leader Scholarship recipient from 2003 to 2007 while attending the Maryvale Preparatory School in Brooklandville, Maryland. As she pursued her undergraduate degree at Syracuse University, Erika was an active leader, holding several roles, such as: president of the Syracuse University chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), supervisor for Carrier Dome Concession/Catering, a mentor for first-year women of color with DIMENSIONS (an on-campus mentoring program), a student ambassador to both the University 100 and Whitman School programs, and a Syracuse University "Our Time Has Come" scholar. Collectively, Erika's education, various leadership roles, and exposure to the Adams Foundation professional workshops have been pivotal in shaping her to be a business-minded professional and exposing her to many career opportunities. During her four years at Syracuse University, Erika completed three internships: research analyst with AXA Financial Advisors, assistant buyer with Macy's East in Manhattan, and the Black Retail Action Group (BRAG). In addition, she is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Today, Erika is pursuing a career with Macy's East in Manhattan as an assistant buyer. It is her hope to continue to be an active mentor for future recipients of the Adams Foundation scholarship, since the Foundation’s assistance has helped open the door to many educational and career opportunities. |
