GRADUATE PROFILES
Arielle Samuels Arielle Samuels is a graduate of George Washington University School of Business in Washington, D.C., where she concentrated in international business studies. During her undergraduate career, Arielle became very involved on and off campus. Some of her extracurricular activities included serving as a mentor to freshman in the School of Business, and volunteering with a variety of organizations such as Lucy Diggs Slowe Elementary, Adams Elementary and the Emmaus Senior Center. Arielle also held internships at Aerotek in the back office finance department, YMCA corporate offices, and Ferris Baker Watts in the human resource department. In addition, she held a campus job and participated in many student organizations, such as Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and GW Minority Business Student Association. Arielle served as a house proctor during her senior year, which required being responsible for 34 freshmen, providing educational programming, and serving as a live-in mentor. After graduating, Arielle began working as an investment coordinator with Sagemark Consulting, a subsidiary of Lincoln Financial Advisors in Bethesda, Maryland. "When I learned that I had received the Adams Foundation scholarship, I was so excited to continue with school while knowing that I was lessening the burden on my mother and the amount of financial debt I would incur post-graduation. The Foundation taught me great skills that I use on an everyday basis. Though we began our workshops very early, by the end of the day, I knew I was walking away with an invaluable resource. The annual dinner has given me the opportunity to improve my introduction and networking skills. I would like to thank the Adams Foundation for investing in me. I really don't think I would have been able to achieve some of my goals without the assistance the scholarship has provided." |
